May 10, 2010, Plymouth, Minn. — Convey Compliance, the market leader in web-based tax compliance and reporting, and International Accounts Payable Professionals (IAPP), internationally recognized as a guidance-setting association for the accounts payable (AP) profession, have joined forces to create greater access to tax and regulatory education. The partnership will include a new IAPP self-study program aimed at helping AP professionals navigate the increasingly complex tax and compliance environment and efficiently manage the 1099 reporting process.
“The tax and regulation environments are heating up,” said Brian Provost, president and CEO of Convey Compliance Systems. “Increased scrutiny places more responsibility on business to understand the regulatory environment and ensure they are in compliance. Our partnership with IAPP will help ensure that AP professionals have access to the most current information on reporting regulations and compliance requirements.”
The IAPP/Convey partnership fills a distinct need among AP professionals. According to IAPP, striking a partnership with Convey offers members a great new benefit. Convey had all the elements in place to provide timely tax education in a way that met member demand. Thomas M Bohn, CAE, IAPP CEO and executive director said, “Our partnership with Convey is part of our commitment to members to provide the tools and resources they need to achieve top performance individually and as an AP organization. As a result of this partnership, IAPP will deliver dynamic tax and regulatory content through our social networking outlets, live webinars, self study programs, and news portals.”
The IAPP self-study program offers the broadest possible access to information AP professionals need to do their job efficiently and effectively. Topics include 1099 reporting, AP best practices, TIN management and verification, B Notice response and resolution, 1042S reporting for non-US citizens, and more.
IAPP members participating in the self-study program will earn one Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit for each hour of study. The program features seven segments, for a total of 10.5 hours of study and 10.5 CPE credits.
The program will be launched on July 1, 2010.
